Getting to Thompson Lake
Guests may travel to La Ronge, Saskatchewan by airplane or a good paved highway. La Ronge is a modern northern settlement offering a number of choices for overnight accommodation, restaurants, laundromat, grocery and tackle stores.
A flight to Thompson Lake from La Ronge will typically be made by Cessna,
Beaver, or Otter float aircraft, taking about 30 minutes. You’ll fly
over a seemingly endless vista of beautiful lakes (part of the Churchill
River system), stretching across Saskatchewan’s North.
Your flight from La Ronge can be arranged through "Transwest Air",
a company created by the merger of La Ronge Aviation and Athabaska Airways
in 2000. Rates for flights will vary according to the size of plane (number
of clients), and whether or not another party has been booked back-to-back
(i.e. leaving Thompson Lake on the same plane that takes you in). Please
call for further details and costs based on the needs of your particular
party:
